So yesterday I was kindly invited by TVC Group to as taster session of what will be Hackney Fitness Festival by Virgin Sport.
The event was held outside the Empire / Town Hall and was there to promote the festival. Hackney Festival of Fitness will take place on April 30 and there’s something for everyone.
I am so grateful to have been invited to this amazing taster evening. I had the opportunity to be part of several @fatbuddhayoga classes and also had the chance to speak to so many people whilst I was there.
I met the incredible Chevy Rough who is describes himself as a Human Performance & Mindfulness Coach. He is truly inspiring and working with people with mental health to get them moving and outdoors. He has a true passion and understanding on comparing yourself to others which I am also hugely passionate about which in turn meant we really understood each other.
I also had the opportunity to meet the most energetic CEO I have ever seen. Mary Wittenberg who is the CEO of Virgin Sport. She even took the time to sit down with me and I had a chance to explain my blog, ideas, and of course my big passion #GirlGains.
The evening was fun and full of entertainment getting the local community of Hackney to see that this festival of fitness will have something for everyone.
On the day there’s a huge line up of fantastic workouts including, Hackney Half Marathon, HIIT sessions, Stretch Sessions, Yoga, Hackney 5.5k and loads more. Of course there will be a live local band and local food trucks. The idea for the event is to bring the community together to understand that within fitness there is something for everyone.
It’s also about utilising the community feel, so they’ll use t-shirts which are made by a local company within Hackney, the Drum Works who are an incredible group of young talented Drummers and food stalls by local companies.
If you’re interested in taking part make sure you head down there. It will be a great day out if you’re a family or a group.
